Fortress Of The Bear an educational bear rescue center located in Sitka, Alaska. We bring orphaned bears from all over the state of Alaska and find homes for them in zoos and sanctuaries internationally.  We currently have 8 resident orphaned bears in 3 separate enclosures.  These enclosures mimic the natural settings that they would normally be found.  Visitors view from above in a covered area and have the opportunity to observe and photographic their continuous antics.

Most of our designs are created and produced right here in Sitka by our own staff. As often as possible, we incorporate our own bears into our designs.

As a non-profit 501(c) 3, we truly appreciate your support. All proceeds are used to help care for our bears and improve our facilities.

*We try to pack orders as efficiently as possible, and we’re pretty good at it, so partial refunds will be issued according to final shipping costs! For international orders, email barb@fortressofthebear.org for a shipping quote.

Our 2024 Season passes are available for purchase and will be available to pick up April 2024. We are working on the new design this winter. Can’t wait to see you in the spring.

FOR OUR LOCAL SUPPORTERS!

As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Fortress of the Bear relies on admission fees, gift shop sales and donations to operate. As a local Sitkan purchasing our season pass, you become a member of the Fortress family! This pass covers the admission of the cardholder* and additional guests for our entire 2024 open season.

And just like last year, season pass cardholders will now receive 10% off in-store gift shop purchases**, when they present their card at the counter! The 2024 card is still under construction and will be ready for production in March.

WINTER NOTE: We will gladly deliver family passes locally for free! However, with the winter road conditions, some driveways are not safe or accessible, so we may need to arrange to meet you somewhere. Please include a contact phone number in the purchase form, so we can reach out to you!
